Riverdrunk, Womanwild is a fable soaked with primordial and current stories, and the women-rivers that inhabit them.
The performance is about women telling each other stories through trauma and ecstasy as worlds form and collapse. While the forces of macho-capitalism and climate change wreak havoc on us, the performance creates self sustained female worlds. New beings and new joys unravel and pulsate. Time loops on through the lilts of love, loss and life.
The world has been almost annihilated and reborn five times since the earth’s beginnings. We are living through the sixth mass extinction of the world, the fastest one ever, brought about entirely by human activity. This is eremia, a region of desolation.
Riverdrunk, Womanwild is the story of eremites who sought water, found ruin. Who sought ruin, found water.
